Our Story

It’s a bright, breezy morning in Mullumbimby.

The watermelons have just landed, the sweet scent of mango and pineapple drifts through the shop, and the space hums with familiar smiles and friendly faces.



We pause for a second — just long enough to take it in.
This little shop is full of movement and meaning. But getting here wasn’t quick, and it definitely wasn’t straight.

Ricky arrived in Australia in 1986, and Amir followed in 1999 after the two had met — drawn by the hope of building a life with more balance, where culture, food, family, and freedom could all coexist.



Not long after settling here, we married and became parents — and in many ways, that’s when our real journey began.

Food was always our language.
We poured that into every project we took on — from running Katoush, our first restaurant, to years of festival catering, and eventually Baraka Dips, where we spent a decade making dips that celebrated our roots.

This is a short title

For over 20 years we worked, fed people, moved from place to place, raised kids, and carried this quiet desire for something more grounded — something that connected us not just to people, but to place.

In 2017, we walked into Eden’s Landing and something shifted.
It felt familiar, but full of new possibility. A place to grow food, share recipes, offer nourishment, and build a rhythm that was finally ours.

And in 2022, we extended that connection by buying our own patch of land — learning what it really means to regenerate soil, grow organically, and deepen our relationship with food from the ground up.

Eden’s Landing brought it all together.

It gave us a way to live our values — to share food with meaning, offer warmth with integrity, and contribute something lasting to the Mullumbimby community we love.

This isn’t just our business.
